Studio open to the public this weekend
Local Southern Highlands artist, Elizabeth Burton will be opening her studio to the public this weekend to mark the start of the Southern Highlands Arts Festival.
Ms Burton joins thirty-six other Southern Highlands studios to swing open their doors for the highly anticipated annual Arts Trail on 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th of November.
“This is my sixth year participating in the Arts Trail and it is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to meet local makers and creators, and pick up handmade and unique items – especially with Christmas just around the corner.
Ms Burton said the picturesque Southern Highlands region was the perfect place for city-dwellers to explore for a weekend getaway.
“While Sydney and Canberra locals may have been forced to take overseas trips off the cards this year, the Southern Highlands Arts Trail presents a lovely opportunity to get out and explore their own backyard within only a two-hour drive.
“I actually came down for the weekend from Brisbane seven years ago, and I fell in love with it here. I packed up my family and made the move a few months later.
“I feel so lucky to call this gorgeous countryside my home, and I take a lot of inspiration from the beautiful scenery and gardens. Rolling green hills and locally grown flowers feature heavily in my work.
Ms Burton will be selling framed and unframed art pieces, hand made jewellery, calendars and greeting cards, with something to suit every budget.
Ms Burton will also be offering her Instagram followers a 10% discount when they visit her studio at this year’s Art Trail event. You can find her @ElizabethBurtonArtist on Instagram or visit artsfile.com.au/arts-trail-2020 for more info.
